The website gives information of Idaho Youth Ranch, which was established in 1953. Since 1953, it continues to serve the families of Idaho people who are worry about their troubled teens. The ranch provides residential treatment programs, family counseling, education scholarship etc .It treats teens of drug abuse, alcohol abuse, violent behavior, disobedience, sexual problem, teen pregnancy, self-hurting, runaway etc.
The mission of this ranch is to help teens get courage, vision, hope and will to succeed in life. This ranch instills the value of honesty, integrity, responsibly, dignity, and importance of relationship. It makes teens learn how to optimize resources. It makes them learn to take personal accountability and responsibility. It teaches them to respect human worth, dignity and potential. It insists in determination and firmness in changing teen’s life.
The Youth Ranch manages three more residential based therapeutic programs in Coeur d’Alene, Boise and Rupert. Its programs vary from troubled teens to horse therapy. Horse therapy proves to be very effective in treating teens. They are showed works related to horses like feeding, brushing etc. They are taught how to prepare a young colt for sale. The number of students it treated last year, 67% of them stayed out of troubled. 83% of them are progressing in schools.
