Sorenson Ranch is a 30 years old school that has combined therapy, experiential learning, academics and behavioral modifications helping troubled teens to overcome issues like drugs and alcohol abuse, teen cutting, depression, anxiety and other disorders. There are various departments of this school such as clinical department that have medical health therapists and trained counselors. Class size is small so that teachers individualize each student. The school is known for the better camp comparable to any wilderness camp or boot camp.
This school is a residential treatment center, which uses holistic approach for treatment. The school is not meant for students with criminal background or psychotic disorder. The philosophy of school is every student has the capability to get success if they are given the right option. Therefore, the mission of the school is to rebuild the lives of such students with love and care while obtaining their skills. The contingency-based behavior modification approach is necessary for students to take personal accountability, sentiments and attitude.
They have expert and trained staffs including psychiatrist and psychologist. The education department have school counselor and certified teachers who serve the students in both core and elective classes. The academic mission have safe and positive environment to improve the behavior of the student. They have designed educational program in such a manner so that they are provided proper guidance and counseling to learn at their respective credits. The school also have horse program to explore the wellness of the young people. It also offers 4-H program to provide opportunity to students who is learning leadership, citizenship, and life skills.
