The institute was established in 1983 and primitive aim of the institute is to retrieve the people struggling from drug and alcohol abuse. The institute is immersed in 160 acres surrounded by deserts and mountains. They have been applying 12 step therapy programs for the youths. The issues delegated by the institute are relevant to drug and alcohol abuse. They endeavor holistic approach while implementing the therapy. The activities involved in the program involve articulation with the family and staff.
The program involves psychoanalysis along with the transition of social and ethnic knowledge. Some dramatic psychotherapy is also inhibited in the program where patients are required to perform roles in drama in which they illustrate their problems before the audiences. The patients are helped to determine the factors that had led to their problems and then adapting techniques to resolve it and acquiring new skills. Some of the usual therapies are implemented like group therapy and individual therapy.
The staff of the therapeutic program is capable of delegating with several issues of the teens. The program is also resilient in accumulating measures for other problems which includes eating disorder, mood disorder, pain suffered by an addict and other problems. Psycho educational programs and recreational therapies are also implemented in the program. I liked the place when I visited 2 years back. Due to monetory reasons I did enroll my son. But, I still think this place can help my troubled child

Wife didn't have to attend any sessions. She had sex with a "boy" half her age. They kept her on benzos and never detoxed her. It was a $40k failure!

By far the WORST program I have ever referred to and/or experienced. I had the worst experience- for the money- the clinical team was inexperienced and in my personal opinion non-professional. Communication is horrible, family progam "all or nothing"- if you can't sacrfice and do four weekdays there- you are made to feel guilty and no outside family work is done. With the number of quality programs at or a lower price- I would go that route. Putting someone on Adderall (who is in for substance abuse treatment) with a cardiac condition???

Unprofessional and unethical. I'm in the field and went there for the pain program. The pain dr. is a total quack. I can't even count how many times I was either given someone else's medication and would have to argue and make them look things up to get the correct thing.
In fact, while I was there they gave one woman the totally wrong dose and she had a private room and when she ended up having a severe fall she almost died.
A great deal of the staff ate inexperienced, unethical, and inappropriate. Huge waist of money and very traumatising at a time when I needed a safe stable place. The environment is utter chaos.
At one point I was violently ill from the doctor not checking with my regular physicians which he lied about while trying to convince me jesus would save me from the pain. Anyway, I was naked in the shower vomiting and having other stomach issues all over myself. I was crying and scared as was my roommate who begged multiple staff and nurses to come help me. They refused. So I spent five hours like that till I was so empty that she basically varied me to them. It was terrifying and humiliating and after it all tried to sweep it away like it was some little thing.
Furthermore, I've talked to many people who in recent years have had similarly outrageous awful experiences.

This place should have a class action law suit filed against it. Check out lots of reviews such as helping hands and yelp. It is a sick organization!

It's been over 2 years since I left Sierra
Tucson and when I came in, I didn't think
I'd ever be able to get past my trauma
and live life the way I wanted to. I just
wanted to thank Suzy for all of her help
and support while I was there. I'm now
starting my own business doing what I
love. Life is good again!

I have been to the meadows, Caron foundation, life healing center and sierra tucson. What i find constantly, and it is the same as sierra tucson is that the power of the place is in being away from your distractions, sequestered with a group of similiarly troubled people, and being forced to focus on your issues. Besides that, the places fall very flat. The staff are mostly trainees that can't build private practices so they work there for lower wages. They pump so many people through there that they mix patients up. One counselor said i was suffering from the death of my grandparents when speaking to my therapist at home. Funny thing is, my grandparents are still alive
