Montana Academy is situated on Lost Horizon Ranch. The land is spread in 400 fenced acres of pasture and forest. There are separate houses for boys and girls. It has a library, computer lab, an outdoor gymnasium, a riding field, a lab of science and studio of art, a large dining hall together with living room. The original house is now used as administrative office and classrooms. The setting of the academy is very ideal for troubled youths. This Academy is a type of therapeutic boarding school for struggling teenagers, which emphasizes both treatment and education. It provides best of therapists to its students.
The academy provides emotional growth curriculum which severs students from conventional class rooms. It also offers to students a wide range of classes in English, history, science, math, art and foreign language. In many classes, Honors and advance placement are available. This learning center is certified by Northwest Association of School and College. Those students who complete emotional growth part of the program get Montana State High School diploma.
The family involvement is very important in student’s success at Montana Academy. In individual family therapy session, a brief call is made to the family. This makes the therapist to form a relation with that family, which is important in treatment. Apart from this, parent’s workshops are also organized twice a year for better understanding of program model and build relationship .As students progress, they are allowed to visit their home.
