The above mentioned website gives information about Monarch Center- which treats troubled teens. It was established by Dave and Lori Ventimiglia, who met in 1991 while working in Residential Treatment Center for at-risk youth. It is privately owned and has been working since 1996. The goal of the center is to create and facilitate such programs that are of highest quality, reliability and effectiveness.
Its mission for wilderness programs is to facilitate in building healthy family system and too in within larger context of community. Its wilderness program is a minimum of 30 days and maximum of 90 days. This program is organized in areas of Rocky Mountains of Colorado. Group size for this program is limited to 10 students and this group tends to full before summer.
It organizes family weeks in which parents of troubled tees are invited. Family, which include aunt, uncle, siblings and grandparents, are all appropriate for the family week if they are integral member of the family. Safety of students is big concern of wilderness programs. Here in Monarch, the program is guided by experts who have good experience of this program. In its 14 years of wilderness program, it has had no major injuries or deaths.
