The treatment center is a licensed and certified therapeutic center for troubled youths. The programs have been designed to help students find their confidence and strength through different types of trainings. Students are given group, individual and family counseling. They are imparted behavioral management training. Here, they are provided individualized treatments that give them tremendous benefit to troubled teenagers to come out of any types of issues. Students are given social and life skill training also.
This academy imparts residential therapeutic training to troubled teens through its three campuses. In these campuses, teens learn how to communicate and solve problems effectively. They also learn to accept responsibility and to respect themselves and others as well. The academy makes them able to gain self-respect and competence, which is needed to face the challenges ahead. The distinct training and counseling cause self-discipline and skills among the students.
Here training is given to boys and girls of 10-18 years of age, who come with many problems such as out of control behavior, living in bad company of boys or girls, causing tiffs at home, in school or in their communities, anger management problems or depression and anxiety, poor performance in school etc. Substance abuse treatment is also offered to all teens in this academy. Families of the students feel emotional and academic growth in them. This goal is achieved by group counseling, individual counseling, life skill training and number of other programs.

Eckerd Academy is a nonprofit organization that helps troubled teens turn their lives around. If you're looking for a boot camp or military school atmosphere, then there is definitely not what you're looking for. Eckerd takes a positive, non-punitive approach to helping kids. So, kids learn to discover the best of themselves, increase their self-esteem and accountability. Academics are highly individualized with very low student-teacher ratios, a lot of personalized instruction and hands-on learning. Outdoor adventures includes hiking, canoeing, fishing and high- and low-ropes adventure courses.
