It is normal for any person to be concerned about issues like cross contamination of foods, maintaining good hygiene etc. Doctors recommend that overblown concern for germs can cause mysophobia. Fluoxetine (Prozac) and citalopram (Celexa) are two famous antidepressants that are prescribed under SSRI medication for OCD. The SNRIs medication includes desvenlafaxine (Pristiq), venlafaxine (Effexor) and duloxetine (Cymbalta). Neurosurgical treatment is a new technique to treatment OCD. Patients who do not respond to behavior therapy and pharmacotherapy are recommended to go for neurosurgery.
