Teens Dating Violence
Suggestions for dating violence
My friend is engaged with one of her officemate. She trusts him a lot and mostly spent her free time in dating with him. Last night I have found she was crying in her room. On asking again and again she told me the truth that her partner tried to injure her physically. Also he used to insult her in front of others. He was trying to dominate her physically and orally. I want to know whether my friend is a victim of dating violence. Is there any psychological problem in her boyfriend that compels him to harm her? What suggestion should I give my friend to get over this dating violence problem?

Whatever you have mentioned so far clearly denotes that your friend has became victims of dating violence as his boy friend is associated with dating violence means he is dating violence abuser. He is suffering from psychological aggression apart from sexual abuse due to which he is behaving in such a way. You should suggest her not to spend her time with her friend, avoid him and try to forget him. You should explain everything which is associated with dating violence and motivate her to keep herself away from his friends. Moreover you can suggest some treatment programs which usually run for sexual abuser. So she can tell her friend to go to some of these programs for his complete recovery.

Yes, it may be possible that your friend is a victim of dating violence. Characteristics of abusive relationship are: extreme jealousy, emotional withholding, lack of intimacy, sexual coercion, infidelity, verbal abuse, threats, lies, broken promises and control games. Teens can do something to reduce the risk of this problem such as learn how to defend yourself, always keep cell phone, stay in control and many more or they can help from various online counseling programs and awareness programs.

Mostly teens involved in dating violence have thinking that by abusing their partner they can control them. Such type of behavior is mostly found in teens having dominating nature. If your friend is facing dating violence, we suggest you to ask her maintaining distance from her boyfriend. Boys are cruel abuser as compared to girls. So it will be beneficial for her to break her relation with him. If she has faced some severe physical, oral or emotional abuse and is feeling unable to overcome their effects, ask her to take help of some psychologist or counselor.

Suggest your friend to avoid her boy friend because he may create any problem for her in future; as his behavior is extra dominating and abusing too. Suggest her to join any other company and discontinue the contact with his friend.

Certainly First of all you must try to find out the reason behind such behavior of the guy. If he behaves with other people also like this, then certainly be some kind of behavioral problem and he must be taken to the behavioral centers or to the psychologist. After the treatment I am sure that he would certainly change his behavior towards other people.
