Subtypes of bipolar disorder
Bipolar disorder is has four subtypes among which 3 are specified and 1 is non specified. I want to know in brief knowledge about these subtypes and their causes and symptoms. It is said that bipolar disease can be treated effectively with help of behavior management therapies and medication. Kindly provide significant information about psychotherapy and medication related to this disorder.

There are 4 subtypes including Rapid cycling, Ultra-Rapid Cycling, Seasonal pattern, Post-partum onset. In Rapid cycling Individuals experience more recurrent mood problems, in Ultra-Rapid Cycling these cycles becomes more frequent, in Seasonal pattern patients have expected seasonal patterns to the beginning of their mood occurrences, in Post-partum onset problems with mood occurs within 4 weeks of childbirth.

Sub types of Bipolar disorder include rapid cycling (experiencing frequent mood episodes; 4 or more times in a year), ultra-rapid cycling (similar to rapid-cycling (frequent mood episodes; 4 or more times a week)), seasonal pattern (depends on particular seasons) and post-partum onset (When the mood trouble occurs within 4 weeks of childbirth). The causes of bipolar disorder can be genetic. It can be caused due to viruses such as Borna virus and Herpes simplex. Yes, bipolar disease can be treated by behavior management therapies and medication. In psychotherapy the patient analyze the impacts of this disorder on him and his family. By the support of therapists the patients develop the coping skills and social-skills. Lithium and anticonvulsants (carbamazepine, lamotrigine, gabapentin and topiramate) are the effective medications for the treatment of bipolar disorder.

Bipolar disorder is a severe condition that causes a chief shift in moods, thinking, and transformation in a person's behavior. Behavior change generally ranges from low depression moods to extreme severe mania. Antidepressants and Mood Stabilizers are the most common medications used in the treatment of bipolar diseases. ECT or Electroconvulsive Therapy treatments are also used along with the medications in curing bipolar diseases.
