Attention deficit disorder (ADD) is a general term frequently used to describe individuals that have attention deficit hyperactivity disorder without the hyperactive and impulsive behaviors. ADHD refers to hyperactive, impulsive, and/or inattentive behaviors. Similar treatment is almost recommended for both ADD and ADHD. Methods of treatment often involve some combination of behavior modification, life-style changes, counseling, and medication. Management with medication was shown to be the most cost-effective, followed by behavioral treatment.
