Deliberate Self Harm Syndrome is a problem usually discussed in context of self injury? What type of disease is this? Is it treatable? What are effects and causes of this disease? My younger sister always injures herself for silly reasons. The ways that she adopts for self injury is scratching or cutting. Does it show that she is also facing mentioned syndrome?

Self-injury is also known as Self-harm Syndrome. Yes, it is treatable. It can be treated by behavioral therapies and anti-depressants. Cause of this disease is depression. Effects can be dangerous; the person can also go for a suicidal attempt. Mentioned syndromes are which can be easily diagnosed such as Asperser’s syndrome, Down syndrome and battered person syndrome.

Deliberate self harm syndrome is a syndrome in which an individual harms him/herself physically even for some silly reasons. The usual reason is the need to look for relief from intolerable emotional distress. With some behavioral therapy this syndrome is treatable. Yes, she may suffer from this syndrome.

Self injury is some what related to self harming physically. This can be treated through therapeutic treatments in some recognized treatment centers with the help of cognitive behavioral therapies, anti depressants etc. Effects of this problem can even lead to death and can be dangerous as the person who is generally fighting with self injury suffers from suicidal tendencies and negative self image. Main cause of this is depressions, family conflicts, negative self image, low self confidence, poor academic results etc. Yes, this shows that she is also fighting with self harming problems due to which she is behaving in such a way.

Yes, Deliberate Self Harm Syndrome is a problem usually discussed in context of self injury. Self-harm is a dangerous and invasive behavior problem among adolescents. This is a psychological problem. Yes this treatable problem. There can be many causes like mental stress, emotional problems, negative self image, depression and dating violence are the main causes found behind the teenagers self injury. Self Harm can ruin the life of the person sometime can cause severe injuries. yes these signs shows that you sis is struggling with self harm problems.

Yes, it is treatable through variety of therapies including behavioral therapies, medication therapies etc. Effects of this disease are dangerous as the person fights with it may even go for suicidal attempt in extreme cases. According to me she might be suffering from Down syndrome, Asperser’s syndrome and battered person syndrome.
