Why teenagers do not wants to attend social functions?
My 8 year daughter regularly avoid her participation in family functions and always makes excuse for not attending any social function. can you suggest me that why she is behaving in such a manner.

She might be depressed of something and do not wants to attend social gatherings. You can only understand her problem by giving her some time. Moreover you can also put in some Residential school if you are not having enough time.

May be she feel shy in front of many people and not feel confident while communicating with them.So make her feel confident.You can also have an option of summer camp for your Yong girl where she get chance to raise her ability & self confidence.

I think, he is facing the problem of Shyness which comes under Disorder disease.For resolving these problems you should send him in Group Treatment Centers.

She might be suffering from social cutting problems due to which she is behaving in such a way. You should motivate her to join some of the social gatherings or society functions for her behavior modification. Moreover you can send her to summer camps for her proper entertainment and fun. When she will perform group activities she will overcome her social isolation and will soon interact with society and friends.

Avoiding family and social function can be due to involvement in some unacceptable behavior. Talk to your daughter about her changed behavior. If necessary, ask help from some psychologist.

There is a chance that your daughter is struggling with the social awkwordness or shyness problem. Today many summer camps, boarding camps offer short term programs and tips for the teenagers who are struggling with lack of confidence, shyness and social awkwardness. Various group homes, camps, counseling centers offer treatment programs for social anxiety or social awkwardness problem. Therapies including group therapies, cognitive behavioral therapies, psychotherapies and meditations are very effective to overcome from the social awkwardness problem. Theses centers also offer parenting programs to the troubled teenager’s parents. Parents should motivate their teenagers to talk with the people, participate in group activities, smile at everyone while meeting, practice conversing with people he doesn’t know, when he talk to someone, and look them directly in the eye.
