Attention deficit disorder or ADD makes it difficult for people to reduce their impulsive responses involve movements, speech or attentiveness. The symptoms of ADD depend on which characteristics dominate. Children with ADD/ADHD can be of three types. They can be inattentive, but not hyperactive or hyperactive but not attentive or inattentive, hyperactive, and impulsive. Effective treatment of ADD involves special education, behavioral therapy, parent education, and social support. Medication are also used for the treatment, however, it can never be the sole ADD treatment.

Few of the most common symptoms which are associated with ADD disorders are Impulsivity, emotional difficulties, disorganization and forgetfulness, relationship difficulties, Hyper focus as well as hyperactivity or restlessness. Medication therapy only relieves the patient for some time but it cannot cure ADD disorders completely. As these medication are effective only till the time it is taken and when it is stopped all the symptoms again come back. Moreover these medications come with numerous side effects so the person should go for some other treatments such as residential treatments. There they will be provided with effective therapies and proper supervision by therapists that will heal them from all of their problems quickly.

Symptoms of ADD includes fidgeting with hands or feet, difficulty remaining seated, being easily distracted by extraneous stimuli, difficulty awaiting turn in games or group activities, blurting out answers before questions are completed or before they are called to answer, difficulty in following instructions, shifting from one incomplete task to another, talking excessively, interrupting or intruding on others, not listening to what is being said, forgetting things necessary for tasks or activities and engaging in physically dangerous activities without considering possible consequences. Yes, medication is helpful in curing ADD but only up to some extent. It may help in improving the ability to concentrate, plan ahead, and follow through with tasks. However, it will not fix all of kid’s problems. Even when the medication is effective, a teen with ADD might still struggle with emotional problems, social awkwardness, and relationship difficulties, forgetfulness and many other similar problems.

Attention deficit hyperactivity disorder is a disorder that appears in early childhood. Some common symptoms are: squirming while seated, having difficulty remaining seated, having difficulty in following instructions, difficulty sustaining attention in tasks, talking excessively, interrupting others, easily distracted by extraneous stimuli, frequently loses or misplaces homework, books, toys, or other items etc. Exercising is one of the easiest and most effective ways to reduce the symptoms of ADD. Physical activity immediately boosts the brain’s dopamine, norepinephrine, and serotonin levels—all of which affect focus and attention. Cognitive-behavioral therapy encourages ADD patients to identify and change the negative beliefs and behaviors that are causing problems in their life. Since many individuals with ADD are demoralized from years of struggle and unmet expectations, one of the main goals of cognitive-behavioral therapy is to transform this negative outlook into a more hopeful, realistic view.
