Teens School Bullying

What is bullying?

Bullying is a problem that affects so many teens. Bullying is when a individual is chosen on frequently over again by a individual or group with more power and control, either physically or socially. The main reasons of people being bullied can be either social status or physical appearance. Some bullies harass bullied physically, which can be punching or hitting, or even sexual assault. The problem of bullying is rapidly increasing in schools. Both boys and girls can be bullies. Bullies may be aggressive or may be reserved.

Types of Bulling:

Bullying mainly is of two types:

- Physical bullying
- Verbal bullying

Physical bullying: Bullying is not a small problem. Bullies attack on people being bullied by shoving or tripping to punching or hitting. Bullies can attack in the form of sexual assault.
Verbal bullying: In verbal bullying, bullies always taunt or tease their target. Sending cruel messages via emails or SMSs also come in verbal bullying. Sending cruel messages via emails is called cyber-bullying.

If the child complains about being bullied at school, what parents need to do:

- Teach the child how to respond to a bully in a bold, confident way
- Keep on assuring the child that this situation can be resolved.
- Encourage them to become social and to invite friends to your home and participate in school activities.
- If necessary, parents can meet with school administrative to discuss the problem

- Ignore the bully and walk away
- Practice confidence
- Don't get physical
- Hold the anger
- Find true friends

Steps to Stop Bullying in Schools:

- Bullies certainly are identified for their ability to overshadow others physically or mentally. Bullying is not a problem that usually just takes care of itself. Action needs to be taken.
- Teachers should show children how to resolve problems firmly and practically. Teach children to ask and respond directly to each other.
- Identify ways to respond to bullies. Parents and teachers should help children in identifying acts of aggression, discrimination.
- Teachers should teach courtesy skills to the children. The children should be taught to ask nicely and to respond nicely.
