Lack of Concentration
Causes for Lack of concentration:
Lack of concentration can arise from physical, psychological or emotional issues. Some common reasons are:
Fatigue: it is a condition when a person feels tiredness, weariness, exhaustion, weakness, or low energy.
Wrong diet: Teens are usually careless in consuming meal on time. Improper eating can cause major health problems in teenagers.
Anxiety/depression: There can be many reasons for taking stress. This can be a cause for the concentration difficulty.
Boredom: Teens and adolescents usually get bored with anything very easily. It stems from doing something that is meaningless and un motivational.
Symptoms of lack of concentration:
- Memory Loss
- forgetfulness
- stress
- No interest in doing any work
What parents can do:
Firstly parents should try to know what are the factors of concentration difficulty are. Generally younger children are less concentrated as long as older children and adults. Parents should know which work is sensible for a child of her/her age.
Parents should teach their children ‘do what you love and love what you do’. When they like whatever they are doing, they will be able to concentrate more.
Parents should praise or encourage their child rather than criticizing them in whatever they do. They should also reward their children on their success.
Parents should create the best environment as they can. A healthy environment is always very helpful for the concentration.
Parents should take care of the diet of their teens. They should provide as healthy, nutritious food. This will be very helpful in improving concentration power. They can also take the help of medication.
Treatment for the lack of concentration:
Wilderness therapy - In order to improve concentration power in teenagers, the wilderness therapy helps so much. The unique programs provided by this therapy helps to overcome concentration difficulty. They provide outdoor adventurous activities as well as religious/spiritual activities.
Christian schools - Christian schools provide very dynamic environment for the treatment as well as for the studies. They help their students to generate more interest in the work they are doing.
Counseling - counseling can be very helpful if the teen is facing the concentration difficulty. They can suggest some good program or good treatment center. Counseling centers also provide the resource to parents where they can get the information about the treatment.
