What are the common problems of boarding schools?

Generally parents prefer boarding school for their troubled children but most of these schools are very expensive and every body can’t afford. Summer camps are the alternatives for the behavioral improvement of the distracted kids. Duration of such camps is two to three months.

It becomes hard for the professionals to control the kids that are emotionally immature. Some of the children can’t accept the separation from parents. Though, the skilled staff-members provide the intensive supervision.
They try to fulfill the requirements of every individual but what love and affection the parents can give not body other can provide.

The strict environment of boarding schools some time creates the negative impact on the mind of children because they feel, as though they are in jail and lost all freedom.

Inferiority complex may arise in some teenagers that find difficulty in performing well in academic and non-academic activities. The teen may suffer from isolation problem because of inefficiency or learning disorder.

What all precautions are required before taking admission in boarding schools?

- Ensure whether the boarding school is recognized or not?
- Check whether the syllabus has been updated or not?
- What type of accommodation facility they are providing?
- What about food facility?
- Medical-facility?
- How far is the boarding school?
- Transportation options
- Are the staff-members are kind and helpful?
- Will the teachers provide life-skills to the kids in addition to academic qualification?
- Will the contact be maintained via the phone?

Problems in taking admission at boarding schools:

One of the problems in taking admission is financial-crisis of the juveniles family. Second problem may be the poor communication skills.

The boarding schools accept only those candidates who qualify the interviews.

Third problem may be the kids are admitted only when they fulfill criteria of minimum age required.

Fourth problems is normal boarding schools don’t prescribe therapeutic assessment and intervention programs or psychotherapy sessions so stressed youth don’t get specialized programs according to their needs.

Difficulties due to peer groups in boarding schools:

When the strength at boarding schools increases, the students have to share the rooms and other accessories. The youth-adults that are physically stronger dominate over the weaker children. The kids that are physically unfit have to suffer physically and mentally in such scenario.
